"Qualifications" was the theme of our meeting on 22nd September and my goodness, what a great range of speeches we had.
We welcomed Chris Pugh back after the summer break and I am glad to say that he delivered his speech with all the enthusiasm and gusto that have grown to be a intrinsic part of the Pugh "brand"!
Margaret gave a fascinating account of her personal journey through education with her speech entitled "10 lessons for studying" demonstrating that she is a true inspiration to anybody looking to enhance their career and life in general with continuous learning and development.
Our final speaker was Merecedes who, competing with Chris for enthusiasm and gusto packed her speech full of her take on the value of qualifications and ended with a plea to us all to support her in a walk she is undertaking with The Big Issue in London on 1st October. Good luck, Mercedes! .
Following the break, Lorna delivered a workshop on the value of following the Powertalk accreditation programme which is a great reminder to any club members to drop me a line if you have not yet signed up to start your journey towards "Distinguished Communicator".
We meet next on 13th October for our meeting on "Bankers - heroes or villains" with a workshop on impromptu speaking in the second half.
That's all for now, folks! See you in October!
Best wishes
